Gardendale Accountability Project

 

Gardendale Accountability Project, hereafter known as GARDAP has one purpose: to hold Berry Petroleum accountable, through a variety of methods, as it develops the minerals underneath Gardendale. The following are its principles of operation:

1. One for all, all for one

I pledge to be an advocate for and protector of the land rights of fellow members. I will treat other member’s land as if it were my own and vigilantly watch for actions by Berry Petroleum (and subcontractors) that might harm our air, water or land.

1. Speak truth, always

I pledge to speak directly, accurately, strongly and without exaggeration. Words are powerful and I will use them to advance our interests in ways that will not bring disrepute to GARDAP.  Civility in speaking will be my goal.

1. Consideration of GARDAP members

I pledge to confer with GARDAP prior to making any agreement with Berry Petroleum. I understand and support the value of unity and agree to seek decent treatment for all fellow members.

1. Commitment to Non-Violence

I disavow the use of vandalism or any illegal activity in GARDAP’s pursuit of holding Berry Petroleum accountable. I will report all suspicious activity of any kind on or around Berry equipment on my or other member’s land. I will not tolerate or support illegal harassment or interference of Berry employees or their designated representatives as they carry out their properly assigned duties on my or  other member’s property.

1. Commitment of time

I agree to assist and participate with other members of GARDAP in carrying out its stated mission of holding Berry Petroleum accountable.

1. GARDAP’s Policy for New Members

I understand that GARDAP membership is extended by invitation only. New members must be recommended by an existing member. GARDAP intends to limit membership in order to keep the activities manageable and effective. If the need arises GARDAP will sponsor additional chapters

1. GARDAP’s Independence of Action

I understand GARDAP operates with complete independence of any other organization in Gardendale.

 

I agree with and will abide by, to the best of my ability, GARDAP’s principles of operation
